VORTRAG: The Health Benefits of Creative Arts Therapies Across the Lifespan: Research Evidence and Contributions to the Wider Culture and Health Eco-system
Prof. Vicky Karkou
The evidence of creative arts therapies is growing alongside a frenzy of practice-, research- and policy-related developments in the wider culture and health ecosystem. We now have research evidence on the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of arts-based interventions for children, adults and older people. What of the latest evidence can contribute to and influence policy and systemic changes in healthcare? What type of research can support developments in the field? And in what direction? The skills and competencies of creative arts therapists will be highlighted, inviting the professional associations: (i) to utilise the latest evidence and (ii) to contribute to shaping the future of culture and health in Europe.
